I wanted my sister to read this book because she has metastatic breast cancer and, of course, weighs 300 pounds . I feel l know the science behind ketosis and intermittent fasting and l went all out for the program myself and dropped 50 pounds in a year and half. I wanted some daily menu suggestions, though, and didn’t find any . This book is pure inspiration!
I knew nothing about Keto before reading this book! I bought the audio book first and then had to have the book to be able to reference back. Dr. Bozworth has changed mine and my husbands lives. We are now Keto and my husband has lost 40 lbs since the beginning of September. Everyone should read this book. So much valuable information. Thanks Dr. Boz and for Sunday nights too.
Dr. Boz is awesome! by reading this book and following her U Tube videos I have a learned so much in order to be able to live a Keto lifestyle. I am feeling so much better and just in awe of the information that is shared with us. So Happy for Gma rose health recovery and looking forward to a 2nd book.

There was so much great information in this book. I’ve read many. Dr. Boz brings it down to easily understand what you need to do. I’ve tried keto before, had great success, but as she mentioned, I let carbs slowly make their way back in and have really struggled trying to get restarted, because of the initial stages of becoming fat adapted. Her book has given me new incentive to start again! Thank you!
This book is an easy to understand book for those wanting to learn about the ketogenic diet. My husband is a health care provider. We have purchased about 10 of these books. He has created a lending library and passes this book out to patients, in hopes that they will grab hold of this way of eating and change their health. Well worth the purchase!
I enjoyed this book very much. The story of how Dr. Boz and her mother worked together to get her mother back to good health is very interesting to me as I am 78 and want to keep myself in as good of health as possible. I recently learned about the Keto way of eating and I liked that Dr. Boz told the story of how she herself started eating this way, BEFORE she started her mother on it. The way Dr. Boz wove the story of her mother’s health (and lack of it) with her own learning of how the body works on fats versus sugars was done in a way that even those of us that don’t understand the medical side of it all – still got a good understanding of why it is a way to try if we want to get our bodies to burn fats. I have been a sugar-addicted person all my life but I am now sugar-free after 2 months of eating Keto! Thank you Ann Bosworth, for all the studying you have done to learn and then share this info with us!
I found this book to be extremely informative without alienating the reader with excessive technical jargon. Being in pharmaceutical research I tend to gravitate toward trade publications which while usually informative are hardly inspirational page turners. This book was all of the above.
I have been doing keto for over a year now, but the strip never turned pink, so I quit testing. In the last few months I had been struggling with eating a few sweets. This was very unsatisfying for me and caused cravings. After reading this book, in two days, the stick is now really pink and I do not crave sweets. I walked through Costco’s dessert isles with no problem. You are candid and share your similar struggles, this helped me. I was overdoing the protein and not eating enough fat. I also cut out the carrots and sweet potatoes. I have been trained that fat is BAD, changing this concept is really difficult and this book gives practical advice on exactly how to do it . Mom and I split a can of sardines yesterday and we survived, they tasted fine! Thank you for explaining exactly how insulin works so people without medical training can understand it. Insulin controls our health and our lives whether we understand it or not. Once there is a clear understanding, choices become easier to make. This book gives answers to common objections that anyone on this diet will encounter. Thank you for writing this book and bringing hope and healing to those who desire to make the choice to “fight for their own health”. We need more doctors like you, you have courage, strength, compassion, wisdom, humility, faith and pride did not stand in the way of you sharing your journey with Grandma Rose. Thanks again!
