Great book! So much info and very helpful to explain the science behind keto for someone who isn’t a scientist.
Very interesting book and full of great education on fats vs. carbs, even though I must admit the chemistry was a little mind boggling. I would love to try the KETO challenge as I feel I am “locked in at the “20 lb. overweight” mark. Just as important to me is the testimony on eliminating tinnitus. I so badly want to see if this would help as I have had it for over 3 years. I know it will not be easy but it all makes sense. Great book. Great story on Grandma Rose. ♡

The chapter on Insulin was very interesting, I didn’t understand why you said in an email to me that insulin stopped the production of ketones, trying to digest the information. Dr. Boz is so engaging and she has a gift for speaking and writing that make difficult medical topics seem easy to understand and more importantly, possible to make changes for the better with our eating and fasting.
I recommend this book for people who are open to trying a new approach to improving their health. I also recommend this book for people like me who had somewhat of a working knowledge of how paleo diets work and also intermittent fasting, but were not getting the full results they desired. In my case, previously insulin resistant, high blood pressure, mediocre cholesterol numbers—-these are the reasons I started investigating fasting and ketogenic lifestyles. I wasn’t finding the full benefits until after finishing the book when I realized I simply needed to make a few simple adjustments to go into ketosis…sure enough, I lowered the very small amount of fruit I was eating and also removed the small amounts of dark chocolate I allowed myself every day (ans actually added more fat!) and I finally got into ketosis in just two days. Couldn’t believe how that small shift worked so well and couldn’t believe such a small change made me feel so full of energy, so mentally focused, and so good!
This is a great book to share with friends and family who could benefit from it!
It sounds a bit improbable. Where in the world do people eat like this. Solve all your physical problems by eating fat and no carbs.
Concise an to the point… I have been looking at keto for several years. Most authors, especially those who are Dr.’s or worse biohackers rapidly move too deep into the intricacies of the program. This book gives a nuts and bolts presentation with just enough science to make it logical and understandable. Dr. Boz is engaging and transparent. Her and her mom’s journey were/are transparent and heartfelt. Great no nonsense information. Best book out there by far.
This book is extraordinary. Dr Bosworth presents a complex topic with extreme clarity and simplicity. She weaves her personal story into the ext, making it imminently readable, and heart warmung. It made me a believer.
Book is inspiring. Written by a regular doctor who wanted to help her mom (she is/was not a professional athlete or chef) using keto diet.
I recommend this book to anyone who deals with inflammation and wants to change their life. Ive been playing with keto for the last 3 months until I read this book. Now I am on a strict keto diet, using my keto strips twice a day. Already feeling better on 7th day. Go keto!
I have been facing type 2 diabetes challenges for past 10 years. Weight has creeped up and a lot of other health issues including brain fog, depression, memory issues and list goes on.
I had read about Keto diet from other sources. But Dr Boz’s book stands out above all. I believe her humor and her Mom’s story in the process of explaining things are the most interesting way of delivering the powerful message. I encourage everyone to read this book to help yourself……..yes even those who are extremely healthy!
