I enjoyed reading every page of this book. Best keto book. Wish I would have started with this book year ago
At age 68: I have been lean, health oriented, and low keying sugar and alcohol for the last few decades. Systematic inflammation issues spoke to me early 2019. I found out I was creating my own inflammation via my dietary choices of way too many carbs. Dr. Mercola’s “Fat for Fuel” book grounded my first wake up lesson about how a dietary shift can be used to challenge a condition called “insulin resistance”, which I understand to be the common base of inflammation inside our bodies, and the precursor to the majority of diseases. My very favorite health support book lately is Dr. Bozworth’s “Any Way You Can”. Dr. Boz’s Story about what lead her to shift her internal medicine practice to integrate (what I might call) Keto Universe Options for Health, is simply an awesome, epic gem of a story! The book is well written; and hooks high interest mode by the end of chapter one. A treasure cove of easy to understand specific lessons and references are integrated. Dr. Boz’s YouTube Classroom, is a parallel resource with numerous question and answer sessions that I also highly value. I have given away 6 of Dr. Boz’s book to dear friends so far, and have more going to others. I think you would appreciate having this book in your home.
As a 79 year woman with depression, but otherwise healthy, with good family, the book have me impetus to do something. Read it over and over. The strength of Grandma Rose in tandem with dr. B. became my rescue.
I have instinctively done intermittent fasting for longer that a year, due to ulcerative colitis, and noticed great improvement following each self induced Tx. Reading the book , now I understand why!
Following the basic rules I got into ketosis state in three days! No keto fly symptoms, no hunger, just feeling good!
It will not be hard to maintain and accept this program. Challenged my son to join😊
Just to get more proficient with cooking and perhaps, even, get rid of Paroxetine and get sunshine into the old life.
Thank you, Dr. B
A real scatter shot approach to how low carbohydrate diets can affect cancer and other health issues. This is the story of a cancer patient who went on a keto diet. There is a little bit of nutritional and biochemical science in the book, but now well referenced or terribly convincing. Nonetheless, it gets you thinking and motivated me to start on the diet myself.
It is no exaggeration to say that Dr. Bosworth’s book has changed my life – and even saved my life. Dr. Boz does an excellent job of explaining the science of the ketogenic diet in an understandable and engaging manner. Follow her advice and you will be successful in transitioning to the keto lifestyle! What I love about Dr Boz is that she is very honest about her initial skepticism, her setbacks and her journey in healing her mother’s leukemia. She is a very courageous physician in an era where most traditional western medical practitioners cling to existing practice models while ignoring new research that would radically change medical practice, nutrition guidelines and the health of our nation.
Over the last 20 years I have read several books about low and controlled carb diets and have dabbled in low carb eating. Until I read this book, I did not understand the full benefits of ketosis. Dr Boz does a great job of putting all the pieces together.
I have actually purchased 3 paper back copies (gave 2 away) and the kindle version.
Kudos to you Dr. Bosworth! I hope to meet you someday.
Dr Boz also has a website and YouTube channel where you can find additional advice and updates.
Love the personal aspect of explaining how they became Keto and I love how Dr. Boz explains it so anyone can understand. VERY HELPFUL!!!
I’ve been doing versions of paleo, keto and carnivore for ten years, since I first read Gary Taubes’ “Good Calories, Bad Calories.” Dr. Bosworth’s book is interesting and amazingly precise about how to do keto right. I’ve never bothered to check my ketones before, but she’s convinced me to try it. I especially appreciate the CLL (cancer, lymphoma) story about Grandma Rose, because for the first time I know why my chemotherapy for the same disease went so well and why I’ve now gone almost three years symptom-free after being Stage 4! Thank you so much for your work, Dr. Boz!
I was fortunate to find Dr. Boz and the other Keto Doctors and began my Keto journey February 1, 2019. By early May I was down 27# and discovered a lump in my breast, so small that without the weight loss I would have never felt it, especially since my January Mammogram was negative. I ordered Dr. Boz’s book on Audible and before I was halfway through ordered the paperback version. Her insightful, thoughtful writing and great information got me through this. While I have a long way to go, I have my personal reference book to guide me through. Dr. Boz was very brave to get her mother through this against all odds and today’s medical practices! Thank you Dr. Bosworth
The book was a great help in understanding Keto. A life changing diet that helps me rethink what I eat and how it works towards a healthier life. Thank you so much for the explanations of why & how it works for different people. 👍🏼👍🏼
Let’s face it the Keto diet is a lifestyle change that is so good for you, but it’s also hard to get started because there’s a ton of mixed up information out there. In her book, Any Way You Can, Dr. Bosworth weaves the story of her mother’s battle with cancer and her amazing outcome. I’m a person who wants to understand the why before I try something for myself or my loved ones and this book exceeded my expectations. It’s an interesting read, in fact I couldn’t put it down. Dr. Boz takes you through the health benefits of a keto and intermittent fasting lifestyle without a bunch of unnecessary medical jargon. If you’ve struggled with weight loss, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, autoimmune disorder or a whole slew of other medical conditions, read this book. I loved it so much I bought a copy for my daughter and my friend.
